Promises

Monday, November 9th, 2015

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering,

for He who promised is faithful.

Hebrews 6:12 NKJV

Ours God keeps His promises… He kept His promises to Noah, and we still see the rainbow in the sky… He kept His promises to Abraham, and in 2015 we still see the descendants God promised in the very land He gave “to Abraham and his descendants forever.”

And that, my friends, explains why the media is in continuous uproar about Israel – a tiny strip of land smaller than New Jersey – yet is largely silent about the civil wars and atrocities constantly taking place across Africa, Asia, etc.  Israel is the epicenter of God’s End Time plans, and the devil knows it… So he has tried repeatedly throughout history to circumvent God’s redemptive plan by destroying the Jews (through whom Messiah would come) and annihilating Israel (where the Messiah will return).  He tried it by killing male babies in Egypt 3,500 years ago, through Haman’s plots to obliterate world Jewry in Esther’s day, by trying to destroy Jewish culture through Antiochus Epiphanies, by slaughtering Jewish  male babies in Herod’s reign after Jesus was born, and more recently through attacks like the Inquisition, the Russian Pogroms, and ultimately through the Holocaust

satan understands that salvation is through the Jews, and that Jesus’ return is to the Mt. of Olives – not to the UN building in New YorkSo when we hear the media’s spin on the “middle east crisis,” realize that the world lies under the sway of the wicked one (1 John 5:19), and rather than believing everything we hear, let us learn to think Biblically and pray for God’s “kingdom to come and will to be done” in Israel and the Middle East, and for salvation to come to ALL those affected – Jews, Arabs, and the other people groups therein.

Yes, I digress… But the nation of Israel is a tangible, indisputable example that God keeps promises, even when they’re thousands of years old.

SO: let’s think about and enjoy some of the promises He’s made us as Blood-bought children of the Most High God, and allow them influence our outlook and feed our faith as we head into a new month:

  1. You are NOT alone!

For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Hebrews 13:5 NKJV

“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:20 NIV

  1. He promises you His REST, and His very own PEACE:

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28 NKJV

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

John 14:27 NKJV

  1. He promises to be STRONG when you are WEAK:

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV

Fear not, for I am with you;

Be not dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you,

I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

Isaiah 41:10 NKJV

  1. Your future is GOOD:

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalm 23:6 NKJV

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

O Lord, please revive our faith to believe Your promises this week!  Help us build our lives on the confidence of Your love, smile at the future because it is in Your hand, and REJOICE in this amazing life You’ve given us as Your children!  Cause Your love to flow to us and through us all week long…  In Jesus’ name ~ thank You!  Amen.

Much love to you in Jesus,

Pastor Matthew Casey
